PLOT: Plagued by frightening occurrences in their home, Kelly (Ashley Greene) and Ben (Sebastian Stan) learn that a university’s parapsychology experiment produced an entity that is now haunting them. The malevolent spirit feeds on fear and torments the couple no matter where they run. Desperate, Kelly and Ben turn to a paranormal researcher (Tom Felton), but even with his aid, it may already be too late to save themselves from the terrifying presence.
Oh man, what the hell was this movie? So damn boring! Sometimes horror movies take some time in getting to the good parts, and that’s what I kept waiting for with this one only to find that there were no good parts! Nothing! Absolutely trite plot, cliched dialog, everything has been done before, no character ever manages to ever make any sense and it’s just a bunch of scenes woven together from popular ghost, apparition movies and then this nonsense came out!
Apparition is a supernatural thriller that supposedly explores the themes of love, death, and the fragility of the mind. When Doug’s fiancee, Lori, is killed in a car accident, he retreats to their isolated farmhouse to deal with his loss. Left to grieve amid years of memories, Doug realizes he has not returned alone. As he learns the tragic history of the farmhouse, supernatural occurrences leave him fearing for his sanity, and reveal a secret Lori took with her to the grave. Struggling to determine whether what he is seeing is real, or all in his head, Doug finds solace in the company of Jamie, a local grad student. As their friendship deepens, Doug draws her with him into the horrifying events unfolding in the old farmhouse.
*SPOILER ALERT* But the truth is it is never explained what the being truly is or what is going on. It didn’t seem like I watched a film on its own but like a prologue for some movie that we never got to see.*END OF SPOILER*
Well, I guess I don’t feel like ranting anymore so feel free to watch it you might think differently who knows. But this one just did not work for me I’m afraid.
